Laser therapy on V.

V. is a 16.3 chestnut point-to-point horse.  When racing in the spring 2004 he fell at a fence staking himself on the birch as he went down.
He was rushed to the vets and given several stitches to designed to hold the wound together but also allow it to drain.
I lasered it the following day (pictured right) and as you can see the chest area had begun to swell.

Over the next week his chest changed dramatically, at one point when his stitches burst, I could get 1?" of the laser probe inside the wound (always protected by film to prevent infection). It sounds awful, but was beneficial, as I could reach right to the inside layers, speeding the healing further.

On completion of treatment the wound was completely sealed.

He continued to improve and this is the finished result.
